Hong Kong: Overseas Orient Container Line parent OOIL has said its units will order four 4,500teu boxships worth $264m from Samsung Heavy Industries of Korea. The two groups enjoy a close relationship, OCCL having received its 10th 8,063teu SX-class vessel from SHI late last month. Since then the line has also taken delivery of OOCL Dubai - the fourth of eight 5,888teu S-class vessels completed by Imabari Shipbuilding Group of Japan this year - which is being used to inaugurate a new Middle East-Asia Express service (MAX) linking China, Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai on a 35-day round trip.
