Seoul: Orient Overseas International Ltd has ordered a further five 4,500 teu boxships from Samsung Heavy Industries at cost of $331m.
The quintet, to be delivered by 2009, cost $66.2m each just 0.3% more than the set OOIL ordered last July.
Seperately Samsung Heavy Industries has announced its net profit soared in the first quarter to 90.2bn won ($97.4 million) from 15.3bn won a year earlier on increased sales and production of high-end vessels. [25/04/07]
