In the first six months of 2012, OOIL lifted total volumes of 2.59m teu, up 6.1% compared to 2.44m teu in the same period of 2011.
Revenues as a result also improved to $2.88bn, an increase of 5% year-on-year.
The figures were compiled from OOIL's services in trans-Pacific, Asia/Europe, trans-Atlantic, and intra-Asia/Australasia.
“Loadable capacity increased by 9.8%, and the overall load factor was 2.6% lower than the corresponding period in 2011. Overall average revenue per teu decreased by 1.0% compared to the same period last year,” OOIL said of the first half performance.
