Hong Kong: Revenues at Orient Overseas (International) Limited (OOIL) last year surged 46.1% on-year to $5.62bn on higher container liftings, the company announced in an unaudited statement.
OOIL, parent of Hong Kong's biggest box carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), also posted a 41.9% jump in revenues to $1.52bn in the fourth quarter compared to the corresponding quarter in 2009. In container liftings, OOCL recorded a 14.6% increase to 4.77m teu in 2010, while fourth quarter volumes rose 18.9% to 1.3m teu.
The revenues and liftings are based on the company's services in Trans-Pacific, Asia/Europe, Trans-Atlantic and Intra-Asia/Australasia. [27/01/11]
