Orders continue to mount across Korea

Seoul: It has been another hectic week for Korean shipyard majors with a welter of orders.
Greece's Anangel Maritime Service Inc. ordered two bulk vessels worth $180 million and another unidentified Greek company placed an order for a bulk carrier worth $94.52 million at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, while an unidentified US firm lined up a half billion dollar drillship order at the same yard.
Another Greek outfit Omega Navigation Enterprises Inc announced a quintuple 37,000 dwt product carrier order at Hyundai Mipo worth $221m.
Meanwhile, Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction won an order from an unspecified European owner for four container ships worth 207.8 billion Korean won (US$224 million) for delivery by December 15, 2010.
Finally, STX Shipbuilding said it had received an order worth 179 billion won (US$193 million) for bulk ships to be delivered by June 30, 2010, again to an unspecified European owner.
The remaining 2010 slots at the yards are being sold at a serious premium. [21/06/07]
