Rindho, 40, is set to take up the ceo role from “early summer” 2015. He will take over from Nyborg who was appointed interim ceo in June this year after then chief Carsten Mortensen resigned from Norden to take up the ceo position at BW Group.
Nyborg was vice chairman of Norden, having previously been ceo of Hong Kong based Pacific Basin and was appointed ceo of Norden on an interim basis stating that he was not a candidate for the full time poistion. Rindho also hails from the Hong Kong-listed dry bulk shipowner where he is currently coo.
“We have chosen Jan Rindbo, who has great knowledge of shipping, dry cargo in particular, and who possesses the required personal qualities to take over the position as ceo of a financially strong and value-based company like Norden. Together with the rest of the executive management,” Mogens Hugo chairman of Norden.
