Lahore: With shipbreakers struggling the Pakistan government has unveiled plans to build two joint venture shipyards, one in Gwadar and the other in Port Qasim. Both large yards will have two 600,000 dwt drydocks each, allowing the construction of the largest types of ships. Tenders for the joint ventures are to be announced shortly. [11/09/07]
