Its so-called host-to-host system is aimed at streamlining transaction processes across the 13 ports it manages in a bid to improve port efficiency. Pelindo I manages ports in the western part of the archipelagic nation.
“Through this new system, transaction processes will be much more efficient, faster, and cheaper," Pelindo I finance director Farid Luthfi was quoted as saying in a statement.
Apparently rolling out all its recent technology investments in one go, Pelindo I also simultaneously launched an automatic gate system at Belawan International Container Terminal in North Sumatra. The auto gate will significantly help the port to accelerate entry and exit checks in Indonesia's third-largest port.
"The implementation of both services shows our commitment to focusing on our customers, being more professional and showing our integrity. We are committed to providing services that are beyond our customers’ expectations," president director Bambang Eka Cahyana said.
