Seoul: The Busan Port Authority (BPA) has inaugurated the new Busan International Distribution Centre (BIDC) located at the phase 2 of Distripark adjacent to the North Container Terminal at Busan New Port. The $11.9m international logistics centre, which covers 14,454sq mtr will be operated by a consortium consisting of Japanese logistics companies - DAT-Japan and Fukuoka Transportation and Daewoo Logistics.
The BIDC is expected to see an annual throughput of 30,000teu, mainly consisting of chemical, furniture and liquor products exported to China and Japan. The BPA estimates that 70,000teu of cargo will make its way to the port annually when its logistics 'Distripark' at the North container terminal is fully operational. [13/07/07]
