Port Hedland China iron ore exports jump 25% in Dec

Port Hedland China iron ore exports jump 25% in Dec
Port Hedland: Australian iron ore exports to China for December from the key Port Hedland jumped by a quarter to a record 20.23m tonnes from 16.17m tonnes the month before, according to shipping figures.

Total iron ore shipments from Port Hedland in December jumped 20% to almost 26m tonnes, also the highest reading on record. Exports to Japan comprised 2.64m tonnes and to South Korea 2.24m tonnes. BHP Billiton is the port's biggest user, followed by Fortescue Metals.
