Moscow: A contract on a long-term charter of the Aniva Bay tanker was signed between Primorsk Shipping Corporation (PRISCO) and project operator "Sakhalin-2" (Sakhalin Energy company), writes PortNews. Under the aforementioned contract, the 103,000dwt tanker shall ship oil produced at Sakhalin Shelf for 8 years on a 24-hour basis. The Aniva Bay will be third in the list of over-a-hundred deadweight tankers of PRISCO (the other two are the Sakhalin Island and the Governor Farkhutdinov). The latter two have been exporting raw hydrocarbons from Prigorodnoe terminal in the Aniva Bay since December last year.
The Aniva Bay tanker was built at Hyundai Heavy Industries Offshore factory, Republic of Korea. It was accepted into operation in June, 2009. It is 245 m long and 42 m wide.
Three tankers, two high-speed passenger vessels owned by PRISCO and the Grand Merea gas-carrier built and used by the company in partnership with Japanese partners are involved in "Sakhalin-2" project. [02/10/09]
