Qatar Navigation and Qatar Shipping to tie-up

Doha: Shipowners Qatar Navigation and Qatar Shipping (Q-Ship) have been ordered by the government to merge in order to boost profits. "In order to inspire growth in investment and increase profitability for benefit of the national economy of the state of Qatar and its investing public, both Qatar Navigation and Qatar Shipping received a direction from the government of Qatar to merge," Reuters reports a statement from one of the companies as saying.
 
The merger will combine the Qatar navigation containership and vessel support fleet with Q-Ship's tanker feet.  [25/11/08]
