Doha:Â Qatar's Pearl gas-to-liquid (GTL) project, the world's largest, has awarded a global shipping contract covering its first two phases to a jv of Agility Project Logistics and Transcar Projects Ltd.
Agility Project Logistics (formerly Transoceanic Shipping Company) is a specialized group within Agility, a leading global provider of integrated supply chain solutions, which handles transport of containerized, breakbulk and heavy-lift cargoes for the world's leading engineering and construction companies. Transcar is one of Europe's leading privately held project freight forwarders, managing general and project cargoes.
Pearl GTL in Ras Laffan has been developed by Qatar Petroleum and Shell and will involve over 1 million freight tons of cargo lined up for its construction. The facility, once complete, will be equipped to produce 140,000 bpd of GTL products and approximately 120,000 bpd of condensate, liquefied petroleum gas and ethane. [25/06/07]
