Qingdao-Dongjiakou aims to be world's largest deepwater port
Local media reports highlighted the fact that Qingdao-Dongjiakou port in Shandong province has completed the construction of a 400,000-tonneberth and aims to be the world's largest deep water facility with three major harbour basins with 112 berths on the drawing board.

Investments for the port's 20 currently confirmed projects will exceed RMB1.15bn ($18,5m). Additionally, the port also plans a 20 sq km bonded zone expansion project which will lay the foundations for a fourth generation logistics port and international free trade port, the reports said.
