Keelung: Dr Frank Lu, returning chairman of Yang Ming Marine Transport, has not wasted time stamping his authority. The former head of shipyard CSBC took over from WH Huang on August 1 and has since moved to postpone an order for six CSBC 4,500 teu ships citing exhorbitant prices. Lu is now concentrating on a serious fleet redeployment enforcement according to sources in the Keelung-based firm.
Local media also reported Yang Ming has asked China Steel to jointly invest NT$10bn in a deep water terminal in Vietnam. [27/8/08]
