Hong Kong: One of Hong Kong containerline OOCL's rising stars is set to take up the reins of the firm's American operations. Erxin Yao, currently managing director of OOCL (China) Ltd in Shanghai, will be transferred to the USA and take up the position of president of OOCL (USA) Inc. Mr Yao will also become a member of OOCL's Executive Committee and a Director of OOCL. Insiders say Mr Yao is being groomed for a very high up position within the Tung family controlled company in the future. In the US, he will be taking over from Peter Leng, who is set to retire on January 1 after 34 years with company.

Mr Paul Devine, currently Vice President, Transatlantic Trade, will relocate to San Ramon, California, as Senior Vice President of Sales. Ms Pamela Tung will take up the position of Director, Transatlantic Trade, based in Hong Kong.
