Nantong: Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries carried out the foundation laying for its new offshore electrical and mechanical park, including a ship engineering design institute, here last week. The park covers covers 80 ha and is being built at a cost of 2.4bn yuan.
Chen Qiang, president of Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries said, said the project would provide technical support to local shipyards, including Rongsheng. The ship engineering design institute will carry out technology research in ship and offshore engineering, focusing on areas such as oil tankers, boxships, bulk carriers and offshore projects, and will have advanced self-design and development ability.
