SHI announced it had won a KRW1.1trn ($968m) order for six containerships. While the customers was not revealed it is widely believed to be MSC which said last week it was ordered 11 boxships of 22,000 teu in capacity – the largest ever built.
The other five are believed to be being built by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) which announced KRW927bn order last week for five containerships at the same time MSC said it was ordering the 11 boxships.
