Samsung's tanker policy attracts owners

Seoul: Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has bagged an order from Greek shipowner Target Marine for two 158,000 dwt suezmaxes to be be built by the end of 2011. Two months ago Target placed an identical order with Samsung.
Other owners to have ordered  suezmaxes at Samsung since the yard changed its sales policy this March to allow all ship types to be sold include four for Stena Bulk and two for Nordic American. Moreover, Greece's Kyklades ordered nine 115,000 dwt aframaxes at Samsung. [12/05/10]
