Singapore: Sanko Steamship has established Sanko Ship Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore to manage its offshore vessels, according to the Kaiji Press. The first vessel to be managed by the new company will be an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel, the Sanko Baron scheduled to be completed in mid-July. The Singaporean company will manage other Sanko vessels as they are completed. The firm has 31 offshore related vessels on order. Fellow Japanese line NYK has a shipmanagement set up in the Lion Republic too. [23/06/09]
