SBM Offshore sells DSCV to Daya for $180m

SBM Offshore sells DSCV to Daya for $180m
SBM Offshore has signed a memorandum of agreement with Daya Offshore Construction to sell the newbuild diving support and construction vessel (DSCV) SBM Installer for $180m.

SBM Installer is a multi-purpose DSCV built by Keppel Singmarine in Singapore, equipped with a class III DP system, 12-man saturation diving system, a 250t knuckle boom crane and 150t winch.

"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Daya Vessels Limited to sell the DSCV SBM Installer. Today's announcement is in line with SBM Offshore's stated strategy to refocus on its core business of FPSOs and associated products and services while continuing to dispose of non-core assets," commented SBM ceo Bruno Chabas.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of next year, subject to the buyer securing finance for the purchase.
