Singapore: Issue 28 of regional e-newspaper Seatrade Asia Week is just out and leads with an exclusive on the protracted fight for justice for the Indian crewmembers of the VLCC Tosa. A Taiwanese court has upheld not guilty verdicts on the Master and an AB of NYK tanker that stood of accused of failing to come to the aid of a capsized fishing vessel two and a half years ago. However, the second officer was handed down a suspended sentence of 14 months for involuntary manslaughter. The detention of the Tosa Three, initially without charge, and subsequent ban on leaving Taiwan for two and a half years had drawn ire from industry bodies and seafarer unions.
