Singapore: A tug and barge owned by Pan-United was attacked off Malaysia on April 27, the second attack in as many weeks. The Singapore-registered tug, PU 2402, and barge, PU 3309 was boarded by pirates 78nm off Kuantan, Malaysia. The tug was boarded by six pirates, armed with knives and a pistol, who tied up the nine crew. The pirates stole cash and mobile phones before making their getaway, according to a report by ReCAAP. The incident was close to the area where the Pan-United tug PU 2007 was hijacked by pirates on April 19. [29/04/10]
