Singapore: Sembawang has received its 12th LNG repair contract this year, making it the top LNG tanker repairer for 2006, reports the Ship Repair Newsletter. The LNG vessel, Granantina (94,934 grt), is the latest in a number of vessels the yard has worked on for Shell International as part of an "Alliance" contract. Sembawang has recently completed repairs including the installation of a Nitrogen Inert Gas (IG) system to Shell's 12,400 dwt chemical tanker Achatina, and is currently working on her sistership Acavus. The yard is also conducting repairs to the 101,670 dwt tanker British Osprey, from BP Shipping. [17/11/06]
