SembCorp Marine bags more than US$1bn in orders this week

Singapore: In just two days, SembCorp Marine has announced orders for over US$1 billion in offshore oil drilling facilities. The latest orders bring total contracts secured to date this year at $3.3 billion with its order book now swelling to $9.5 billion.
On Monday, its wholly-owned subsidiary Jurong Shipyard secured a contract from privately owned Norwegian drilling and production contractor, Larsen Oil and Gas, to build a semi-submersible drilling rig for US$640 million ($870 million).
Scheduled for delivery in April 2011, it will be the fourth consecutive newbuild deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig that Larsen has placed with Jurong.
Yesterday, SembMarine announced that subsidiary Smoe had won a third contract worth some US$400 million from Denmark's Maersk Olie og Gas for the construction of HBD Platform for installation in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
The contract entails the engineering, procurement, construction, onshore commissioning, load-out and seafastening services for the HBD jacket, piles, topsides, flare and three connecting bridges. [2/7/08]
