Seroja seeks to void arrest warrant on its panamax vessel
Seroja Investments is seeking to void an arrest warrant on its panamax vessel over claims by Conirma Marine that the ship is not fit for delivery.

Seroja, which provides marine cargo and coal transportation services in China and Indonesia, announced that its jointly-owned vessel Zhushui 5 has been served with an arrest warrant by Conirma Marine on 21 October.

Seroja Zhushui 5 Shipping Limited, the joint venture company owning the vessel, had entered into an agreement in July to sell the panamax vessel Zhushui 5 for $20.65m to Conirma Marine, but the latter did not take delivery as it alleged that the vessel had deficiencies deemed unfit for delivery.

Seroja Zhushui 5 Shipping Limited said it had requested for surveyor from Lloyd’s Register to inspect the vessel and was issued a clean report by the surveyor.

“Seroja Zhushui 5 Shipping Limited is currently seeking legal advice and intends to take steps to void the arrest warrant and defend any claims that Conirma Marine may subsequently file,” Singapore-listed Seroja said.

The 80,000 dwt Zhushui 5 was built in 2012 by China's Zhoushan Jinhaiwan Shipyard. The vessel was to be delivered to Conirma Marine between 8 September to 8 October this year.
