Shanghai box throughput decreases marginally in March
China’s Shanghai port has seen container throughput dropped marginally in March compared to year-ago figures, according to data from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).

In March, box volumes were recorded at 2.94m teu, inching down by 0.7% from 2.96m teu in the same period of 2014, data from SIPG showed.

Compared to February this year, last month’s volumes rose 14.4%.

In the first three months of this year, Shanghai port handled a total throughput of 8.67m teu, an increase of 6.1% compared to 8.17m teu moved in the corresponding period of last year.
