Shanghai: OceanFreight Inc is buying three 206,000 dwt bulkers at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for $204m. Two of the vessels are scheduled to be delivered in the second and fourth quarters of 2012 and the third vessel is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2013.
All three have fixed time charters ranging in price from $21,500 to $25,000 a day for hauling iron ore from Brazil to China.
OceanFreight owns a fleet of 13 vessels comprising of nine drybulk vessels (three capesizes, six Panamaxes) and four crude carrier tankers (one suezmax, three aframaxes) with a combined deadweight tonnage of about 1.4m tons. [24/03/10]
