Tokyo: Shikoku Dockyard is upping productivity via the nearly completed new block-assembly plant plus a block pre-outfitting yard. These new developments will increase output by one ship a year to slightly over six, the Kaiji Press reported.
Shikoku also plans to newly construct a blast shop by the end of 2010 to comply with new painting rule Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). [09/10/07]
