Singapore extends concession for containerships
Singapore: The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) will extend port dues concession for containerships for another two years.

“MPA will further extend the current 20% port dues concession for containerships calling at Singapore, with port stay of 10 days or less, for another two years with effect from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2014,” MPA said in a circular on Wednesday.

Container throughput at Singapore port has enjoyed growth over the past three consecutive years since 2009. Last year, the port handled 29.9m teu of containers, an increase from 28.4m teu recorded in 2010.
