Singapore: Russia's Gazprom in the future may become an exclusive supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Singapore, the president of Keppel Corporation, Chiau Beng Choo, inadvertently told Russian media.
In the future Gazprom will start fuel deliveries to Singapore and Singapore will try to guarantee it exclusive rights when its cooperation with British Gas expires, he said at a meeting of Russian and Singaporean business representatives with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
A Gazprom subsidiary registered in Singapore - Gazprom Marketing & Trading- will start operations at the beginning of 2010.
Gazprom executives said they are looking at also supplying all of east Asia and India with LNG in the future. [18/11/09]
