Singapore: Bagging a total of 24.8m teu last year Singapore is set to retain its boxport crown for one final year before fast growing Shanghai takes over this year. Singapore's terminals operated by PSA and Jurong saw combined growth grow 6.9% last year. Hong Kong, in second place, will reveal full year figures shortly, moved 21.4m teu in the first 11 months of the year. Shanghai last year shifted 21.7m teu, up 20.1 per cent from 2005 and with new deepwater port Yangshan getting busier is set to overhaul both Hong Kong and Singapore this year. [11/01/07]
