Somali pirates vow revenge on South Korean hostages

Seoul: Somali pirates have vowed to take revenge on South Korean seafarers following the retaking of the Samho Jewelry last Friday. In the operation to retake the hijacked chemical tanker South Korean commandos shot dead eight of 13 pirates onboard.

"We never planned to kill but now we shall seek revenge," a pirate who identified himself as Mohamed told Reuters. "We shall never take a ransom from Korean ships, we shall burn them and kill their crew." ??

"We shall redouble our efforts. Korea has put itself in trouble by killing my colleagues," he added. Somali pirates have, in general, not harmed their hostages.  [24/01/11]
