Moscow: The Prigorodnoye port, built to ship liquefied natural gas and oil from Sakhalin 2, will be managed by a joint venture of Sakhalin Energy and Sovcomflot, Russia's biggest shipping company, said Ian Craig, CEO of the project's operator.
The specialised port will receive an average of 160 LNG vessels and 100 Aframax tankers a year. Its infrastructure will allow loading works on a tanker to last 16 hours, while the entire cycle of a vessel's port servicing will take 24 hours, Craig said. [05/09/07]
