Singapore: A Sovcomflot tanker was holed in a collision with Malaysian cargoship in the Singapore Strait on Friday. Sovcomflot said the 47,357 dwt Laptev Sea had finished bunkering operations in Singapore when the 9,800 dwt cargo vessel PWP 1, owned by Mujur Shipping, proceeding to the left side of the tanker made sharp turn and struck the tanker in the bow. The collision holed ballast tank number 2 on the tanker. The Russian shipowner said there were no injuries to the crew or pollution. The vessel was moved to an anchorage for inspection and is expected to be repaired in Singapore. [06/09/10]
