Sri Lanka likely to see war risk surcharge overturned

Colombo: Sri Lanka is anticipating a de-listing from the war risk surcharge with an expected visit by the Lloyd's inspection team in February.
The Sri Lankan delegation that visited London recently invited the Lloyd's team to look at the ground situation to conduct an assessment. The decision will be known by March.
A number of port upgrades and new terminals are under construction on the island and there is a groundswell of opinion that now is the time for the nation to tout its port credentials more loudly on the international stage.  [08/01/10]
