STX delivers GE Shipping product tanker

Seoul: Korea's STX Shipbuilding has delivered a 47,400dwt double hull medium range product tanker to India's Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping). The vessel, christened Jag Prerana, is the 20th tanker to join GE Shipping's fleet and brings its total vessel count to 48 vessels ?" made up of 36 tankers and 12 dry bulk carriers. The fleet boasts an average age of 11.3 years and an aggregate tonnage of 3.29m dwt.

GE Shipping's current new building order book comprises four LR1 product tankers, which will collectively boost its fleet tonnage by 300,000 dwt.  [05/10/07]
