Seoul: South Korea's STX Shipbuilding has won its first order to build a liquefied natural gas carrier, the company said on Wednesday. Under the deal, STX will construct a membrane type LNG vessel of 173,600 cubic meters costingWon211bn ($225m) for delivery by May 2010 for Stream, a joint venture between Spanish oil major Repsol and gas firm Gas Natural, the shipyard said. There are three options attached to the deal. STX has been trying to bag its debut LNG order for a number of years and came close last year for Kogas - a deal that eventually went to Hanjin Heavy. [22/02/07]
