Taichung plays it safe with tugs for LNG

Taipei: Taiwan Navigation Co has ordered two Voith Water Tractors to escort vessels entering the port of Taichung, which has a reputation for being particularly narrow. The vessels will be used primarily to assist gas tankers during berthing, operations that require maximum safety especially in the very final stages because of the hazardous nature of the cargo, says Voith, which is clearly targeting the emerging LNG terminal market.  [03/11/06]
