Tanjung Offshore ties up with Chinese firm
Chinese oil and gas (O&G) are starting to make inroads into the Malaysian market with China's Yantai Jereh Group signing a collaboration agreement with Tanjung Offshore.

Local reports said the deal will see them working closely to explore O&G opportunities in Malaysia, with Jereh bringing expertise and Tanjung Offshore opening the door to potential Petronas contracts.

Tanjung Offshore ceo Muhammad Sabri Abd Ghani said Jereh's technology will improve its operating efficiency, lower cost and implement continuous technology enhancement.

"Jereh will contribute positively to the technology transfer as Tanjung Offshore learns from China's largest and best oil and gas producer. This is an example of a win-win partnership as the oil and gas industry consolidates in these challenging economic times," he added.

In June, Tanjung Offshore secured a MYR250m contract from Petronas Carigali for its Sarawak operations.
