Thailand to develop shipyard database

Bangkok: Thailand's state and private sectors are to cooperate to put together a complete data base on shipbuilding and repair in the country, reports the Thai News Agency. The agreement, which aims to increase competition and make the country ASEAN's shipbuilding and repair centre, was signed between the Industrial Economics Office (IEO) and a private-sector alliance including Chulalongkorn University and the Thai Shipbuilding and Repair Association.  [18/02/08]
