Tsuneishi starts building in China

Shanghai: Tsuneishi Holdings Corp. has kicked off the construction of newbuildings in China having converted a block factory in Zhoushan city in Zhejiang province into a newbuilding yard, enabling it to construct newbuildings up to 100,000-dwt ships on two slipways. Furthermore, Tsuneishi has also inaugurated Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding by integrating two block production subsidiaries. It plans to build 58,000-dwt bulkers and 83,000-dwt Kamsarmax bulkers in China, with its annual construction volume projected to reach about 10 units.
The No.1 slipway measures 210 meters long and 38 meters wide, and the No.2 slipway is 250 meters long and 41.4 meters wide. [09/01/08]
