UASC said it will run “dedicated and direct” weekly services covering Japan, central and south China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
On the existing Intra Asia Container Service (IAC) 1, UASC continues to operate one 2,100 teu vessel under a joint venture with China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL). The service started on Monday in Shanghai with a port rotation covering Ningbo, Shekou, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh, Nansha, and Hong Kong.
On the IAC2 and IAC3 services, UASC will have a slot exchange with CSCL.
IAC2, operated by Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), started on Tuesday from Osaka with a port rotation covering Kobe, Tokyo, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Laem Chabang, Shekou, Hong Kong, and Xiamen.
IAC3, operated by CSCL, will commence on 29 November from Tokyo with a port rotation covering Yokohama, Nagoya, Ningbo, and Shanghai.
