The contract includes engineering to support the shipyard in the approval process, delivery of a Vard SeaQ Electric Propulsion and Integrated Automation System (IAS) package, SeaQ Bridge systems, complete generator sets, and the complete electrical installation onboard the vessel.
Vard Electro’s subsidiary in Kochi, situated close to Cochin Shipyard, will provide engineering and installation services for the project.
The newbuilding is expected to become operational in 2018.
Peter Pilskog, vice president sales and marketing at Vard Electro, commented: “This contract shows that Vard’s know-how in electrical engineering and system integration is both sought after and competitive in the international marketplace.”
