Hanoi: Danish shipping giant A.P. Moeller-Maersk has received initial approval to build and operate a container terminal in the Vietnamese port of Cai Mep. "APM Terminals has received a letter from the Vietnamese government accepting our proposal to build and operate a container terminal in Cai Mep," the company said. APM Terminals and Vietnamese port operator Saigon Port announced in August they would work in partnership to build the new terminal. Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) will now also take part in the project to bring container volume to the terminal, the Danish company said. [08/12/06]
