Hanoi: Vietnam Shipping is one of four new companies to sign up to the Multiport ship agency network. It is the first Multiport representative in the region and is expected to significantly increase the agency's worldwide port coverage. The other companies who joined the network are FG Marine Shipping & Transport in Syria, Alcomar SARL in Algeria and D'Alessandro Agent SARL in Tunisia.
Peter Titchener, secretary-general of Multiport, comments: "We have been looking for members in these countries for a while, but we wanted to be sure we had the right people on board with the highest level of local knowledge. Our members also have to be rigorously vetted by independent experts, to ensure they are professional, dependable and financially secure. With these new agencies, we are confident that we have taken on the best that those countries have to offer. Our principals can work safely in those countries in the knowledge that their port calls are being handled by reliable local experts."
