Hanoi: The Viet Nam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) has announced a target of 16% increase in year on year earnings to VND17 trillion ($1bn) as compared to the VND14.64 trillion seen in 2007, VNS reports. The company expects to declare a profit of VND950bn ($60m) - 10% more than the year before. It also intends to increase its fleet to 2.6m dwt by the fourth quarter of 2008.
The corporation also plans to diversify and restructure to further mobilise capital for the construction of two major projects in Khanh Hoa Province. Additionally, smaller projects in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau will be carried out. [23/01/07]
