Vinashin bags $2.3bn Vinalines order

Hanoi: Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) is to build 64 vessels with a combined capacity of 2.8m tonnes for the Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines), reports local newspaper Nhan Dan. Although the $2.3bn contract, states that all the vessels are to be delivered by 2015, the first 19 vessels of 2.6n tonnes are slated for delivery by 2010. [13/02/07]
