Hanoi: The Vietnam Shipbuilding Group (Vinashin) chairman and CEO Pham Thanh Binh has announced that the company is to invest will spend $155m on three projects in the north Vietnamese province of Nam Dinh.
The projects, to be built in close proximity over 300 hectares, will constitute the first phase in construction of a service complex at the Lach Gia seaport, which Vinashin believes is ideally located for transportation of industrial materials to neighbouring countries.
The projects include the construction of the Thinh Long Shipyard, and a factory in the My Trung Industrial Park, which will support the five other Vinashin shipyards in the area. The company also plans to construct a thermal power plant. [23/05/07]
