Wärtsilä to move thruster production to China

Shanghai: Wärtsilä Corporation announces will invest in the machinery and assembly equipment for the manufacturing of Lips Compact Thrusters in its Wuxi factory in China. Production of such small steerable thrusters will then be transfered to China next year, allowing the company's plant in Drunnen, the Netherlands to concentrate on larger thrusters. Cost of modifications to the Wuxi and Drunnen facilities is put at Euro 8.7m. [02/11/06]
